The Surgical Physician Assistant or Surgical Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.This position will have 1:4 call.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program, or Nurse Practitioner Program.Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Surgical experience preferred CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.Minimum Required:

• Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants, or Nurse Practitioner graduate.
• Must be eligible to obtain or already hold a current State of Wisconsin Physician Assistant licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
• Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
• Affiliated staff privileges at associated hospital may be required (varies by department/location).Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Benefits
